Taking things to the next level involves a lot of different things. Which need to be considered and what should take priority?

So I've taken the plunge and decided to see if there is further opportunity within a hobby. I've never done this before so everything is very new and ready to be tried for the first time. Social accounts have been locked down, I'm working on a website (if you're reading this well then, this website), I'm looking ahead to potential events and all the while I have lots of ideas in my head that I want to try out and make.

This is a leap into the unknown but I believe (and hope!) there's a market for me to tap into with upcycled pallet wood and whatever else I can lay my hands on. It's interesting to see how I now look at things very differently, quietly sizing them up and reimagining them as something else.

But here lies the dilemma; do I focus wholeheartedly on making new pieces and adding them to a marketplace or do I try and balance this with developing a brand and an online voice? I'm sure many new ventures struggle with such thoughts and I am not facing a unique challenge in that sense.

Knowing where best to focus energies will come with time. Until then I'll have to trust my gut instinct, the weather, the availability of supplies and fresh ideas to lead the way.

Progress, learning, tips and inspiration - I'll look to share all of these here and across my social channels. Jump on board and maybe get in touch - it's going to be an interesting journey...
